David Lock

Abbey Scholar 2011

For David Lock, Desire and Construction is an enquiry central to his artistic practice and he plans to research the art of Rome and draw on its classical traditions as a basis for understanding the layering and fragmentation in his own practice. David also plans to use his time in Rome to explore technical applications in order to make larger scale works. He has described Rome as a 'city enabled by fragments from antiquity' and during his time there, he will explore this idea of fragments using collage and painting.
