Amir Chasson

Abbey Fellow 2012

Impossible juxtapositions are at the heart of Amir Chasson's practice and he feels that these same juxtapositions are what make Rome such an extraordinary city. He feels that the great masters of neo-realist cinema also understood this about Rome and created casts of characters struggling to survive in a new age of austerity against the backdrop of Rome's serene eternal beauty. Amir will use his time in Rome to create a new series of paintings that will further enhance and develop these ideas.
