My practice is very much about being open to circumstance and is becoming increasingly permeated with a sense of ‘place’. I have developed a practice of making small paintings with watercolours on paper found in local stationers or flea markets. A found object from that place is folded or wrapped in paper as a planar device to delineate colour and shape. Once an object is completely painted, I unwrap and flatten it to reveal its surface and form.
