June 2023: Vanessa Jackson, RA, steps down as Chair and we welcome new Chair, Danny Rolph.

Esteemed painter Vanessa Jackson RA is stepping down as Chair of Abbey Awards. During her time as Chair, Vanessa has steered Abbey Awards with insight and integrity, strengthening the bonds with the British School At Rome, supporting the development and evolution of both Abbey Awards and the BSR; she will continue to serve on the Abbey Council. 

The Abbey Council welcome Danny Rolph as the new Chair of Abbey Awards. Danny was the Rome Scholar 1998 and has been a valued member of the Abbey Council since 2013. A painter of international renown, Danny was awarded the Mark Rothko residency in 2020 and is represented by 532galleryThomas Jaeckel (NYC), Barbara Davis Gallery (Houston) and Aeroplastics, Brussels.
