My studio at the BSR was by far the best studio I’ve ever worked in. I enjoyed the privacy of the studio, and the fact that my bedroom looked down onto the studio, enabling me to work at any time of day or night. For my work, the quality of the light and the high ceilings in the studios were fantastic. I found that my work changed significantly while at the BSR, and I think this had to do with being in Rome, and living with my work. I developed a series of small paintings in Rome which greatly surprised me, as my work has always functioned on a large, almost monumental scale.
