it was the studio at the BSR that had the most intense impact on my time in Rome, on my development and my output. I don’t think I have ever worked as hard, produced such a varied body of work in my career. There was something about the routine of living and working in that glorious space, the exigencies of daily life that one doesn’t have to consider, at least for three months, that lends itself to critical thinking and to simple work that I will always cherish and be grateful for.
